Awareness campaign on family planning concludes in Longleng

DIMAPUR — With the aim to create awareness among the public and to educate about family planning and choices of family planning, SAARTHI, an awareness on wheel, under Mission Pariwar Vikas was conducted by District Health Society, Longleng, from July 15 to the 20th in all the three blocks under Longleng district.

An update from the CMO, Longleng, stated that SAARTHI vehicle is a smartly designed vehicle equipped with IEC materials and family planning commodities.

It stated that awareness and counselling was given to all the eligible couples and sensitised them about family planning and to avail family planning services during the week-long campaign.

Besides, couples were sensitised on choice of family planning, its spacing methods where couples could decide intervals for pregnancies and number of children they want by using temporary methods such as condoms, copper T insertion and contraceptive pills.

Report further stated that IEC materials, condoms and oral contraceptive pills were distributed during the awareness campaign.
