Award ceremony held for winners of New India@75 online competition

Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): The award ceremony of the online competition of New India@75 awareness on HIV, TB and blood donation for selected schools and colleges under Kohima district was held on Wednesday in DC’s Conference Hall Kohima.

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie lauded the efforts and contributions made by the students in this competition, an update from DIPR informed.

He said that the ideas and thoughts on various themes brought out by the students would go a long way in the fight against the health issues. The DC encouraged them to continue with the spirit of participation and competition in their future academic career. 

He also expressed his gratitude to the participating schools and colleges for taking the importance of the New India@75 programme and its activities. He said that under this programme, various activities had been initiated with an aim to educate and improve the health sector, where concerted efforts from all section are required. 

On the theme ‘Paint your thought’, the winners were — Khaoshai and Chio from Government High School Chandmari won the first prize, P Atong Beshang and Amos Kent from Government High School Chandmari won the second prize and Bendangakum from Holy Family Hr. Sec. School won the 3rd prize. A consolation prize was given to C Litong Phom from Modern Hr. Sec. School.

On the concept of ‘Voice your thought’ – first was won by Elozini Jacinta from Holy Family Hr. Sec. School,  second prize by Shojeih Chemdok and third prize by Y Maolem Konyak both from Government High School Chandmari.

 On the concept of ‘Film your thought on HIV’ — Ram Kumar Updhaya, Huralu Dzudo and Sokumla M Chang all from Kohima Science College won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Meanwhile,  Meguozonuo Martha from Kohima Science College won the 1st prize on the concept of ‘Film your thought on TB’.

On ‘Film your thought on Blood Donation’, Limanukshi Pongen, Philomina Rutsa and Meguozonuo Martha all from Kohima Science College won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

On ‘Publicise your thought on HIV’, Nyimang Naro from Baptist College won the first prize, Pemayile Ndang from Sazolie College and Phongwang E. Konyak from Japfu Christian College won the second and third prizes respectively.

On ‘ Publicise your thought on TB’, Yingdila T Sangtam from Baptist College won the first prize, while Khampei T Konyak and H Viputo Yeptho both from Kohima Science College won the second and third prizes respectively.

On the concept of ‘Publicise your thought on Blood Donation’, Phongwang E Konyak from Japfu Christian College won the first prize, Neingunuo Solo from Baptist College won the second prize and Anulu Rhakho from Kohima Science College won the third prize.

The update stated that all the winners were awarded cash prizes along with. Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo and District TB Officer Kohima, Dr. Akaba Jamir along with other committee members and parents of the winning students were present during the award ceremony.
