Autumn Huddle: Sports festivity to mark onset of the fall

The Ao Students Union of Dimapur (ASUD) is all set to organize its biennial sports event dubbed the “Autumn Huddle 2,” an event that promises conventional athletic disciplines as well as indigenous sporting elements to mark the onset of the autumn.
The sporting event will be conducted with the theme “As One” and commence from October 19, and till the 21st in the state stadium near DC Court in Dimapur town. The event was announced by the organizers during a press conference on Thursday, October 15.
With 46 village units and six sub-units under ASUD, the event aims to promote young talented athletes and sportsmen among the Ao Naga community in individual disciplines ‘to a higher professional level,’ according to the convener of the union’s organizing convener Sungkum Aier.
It was also announced that there would be an open half-marathon for all Indian citizens irrespective of age, residing in Dimapur, on October 19. The event will flagged off at 6 am at the DC Court Junction. The distance of the marathon is 7 kilometers. It will start from said junction to the City Tower through Dhobinala and around past West Police Station all the way to Old SM College before culminating at the DC Court.
The marathon will be in two categories, namely for men and women irrespective of age. The time to complete the marathon is 30 minutes.
It may be noted that certificates will be awarded to those runners who complete the Marathon within the given time.
The winners of the open half-marathon will be awarded cash prizes along with gift hampers. The winner will walk away with prize of Rs.10, 000, gift hampers worth Rs.4000 and a concert ticket to a Michael Learns to Rock show.
The second-placed winner will be awarded cash of Rs.5000, gift hampers worth Rs.3000, while the third winner will be awarded Rs.3000, and gift hampers worth Rs.2000.
Forms to the marathon are available at Dimapur hangouts namely the Lunchroom, the Café Destination, and MI Printers. The forms are free. Likewise, the events for Autumn Huddle-2 which will take place on October 20th and the 21 will consist of soccer for men, volleyball for men and women, 100 meters for men and women, 4*100m for men and women and high jump for men.
Top make the event even more exciting, the organizing committee disclosed that indigenous version of ‘Formula 2’–entailing wooden carts–will be held where eight teams will be competing for the championship title. The organizers revealed that wooden carts are being designed by promising engineering students. The carts will be on display for auction on the final day. The best carts will be awarded cash prizes.
The organizing committee also released the official song and video to mark Autumn Huddle. The song was composed by singer Tiameren Aier and produced by Tinted Lights Studio.

3. Milak Rapids
4. Meinkong Woodlands
5. Süngkong Bangers
6. Tzüla Warriors
7. Tenüm Flyers
8. Tsürang Giants
