DIMAPUR — The 3rd edition of the Autumn Festival concluded on Sunday at the Lawns of Nagaland House, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi.
The three-day event, which began on October 18, witnessed the coming together of the Naga community residing in the capital region, along with guests and well-wishers from Delhi, according to a press release.
The Autumn Festival is a prelude to the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival, which will be held from December 1 to the 10th at Kisama.
Additional Secretary, Higher Education, Government of India, Sunit Kumar Barnwal, was the guest of honour, while Alison Barrett, Director, British Council, was the honoured guest at the culmination programme.
Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, was the chief host, while Wennyei Konyak, Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi, was the host of the event.
The press release stated that guests and visitors were entertained by an enthralling performance by the Delhi Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, along with Naga artists Shelao Kheang, Phelao, Samuel, and the DGP Band, who performed popular English and Hindi songs, as well as some original compositions for the audience.
Artisans, entrepreneurs, and Naga brands such as Runway India, Ukrü Crafts, and Kintem also participated in the event.
The brand ‘Women Folk,’ under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, reported a positive response from visitors during the three-day event. Mongken, under the Department of Underdeveloped Areas, noted that Naga textiles, designs, and jewellery were popular among shoppers.
Green Accent, from Phek, which deals in organic fruits, vegetables, and value-added products, also shared a similar experience.
