Dimapur, Feb. 27 (EMN):
‘Seat Planet,’ a vehicle accessories shop, was inaugurated at Diphu Road, near Government College in Dimapur on February 27.

The proprietor of the shop, K Avitoli Sumi, informed Eastern Mirror that two-wheeler accessories like helmets, box bags, parking covers, gloves, seat covers and top covers are available in the shop and more vehicle accessories would be made available in the days to come.

While interacting with journalists, Sumi said that being a women entrepreneur in a male dominated market area such as vehicle customisation and two wheeler accessories, was not ‘easy and intimidating’.

Sumi informed that the quality and price of the products in her shop is better compared to other shops available in the market as she is trying to maintain a competitive business.

In the view of the market price, she highlighted that the same helmets that are available in the market are sold at around INR 3400 but in ‘Seat Planet’, they offer it at INR 2800. Even the seat covers they offered are of a ‘better quality’ at the same price that is available in the market, she said.

Sumi added that her price range is lower compared to market price as her products come directly from the manufacturers unit in Pune, which makes it a ‘win-win situation’ for both her store as well consumers.

The  proprietor of the shop said that before venturing into Seat Planet, she surveyed the market business, learnt about the various vehicle accessories and even went to the factories in Pune and Bangalore along with her staff in order to sharpen their skills and learn inside out how everything works so that they gets hand-on experience.

Coming from a humble background and being the eldest among the four siblings, she thanked God for what she is today. She has employed three staff currently.

Sumi added that her goal is to create employment opportunities to local people so that they could stay in Nagaland instead of facing difficulties in other states.
