[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE NOC & Sky Entertainment, are pleased to announce to musicians and musical hedonics across India and abroad, the commencement of auditions for bands / artistes who will be competing in the 2014 edition of the subcontinent’s biggest rock competition, the Hornbill International Rock Contest.
Publicity & Media Manager, Al Ngullie in a press release has encouraged all the bands in the country and overseas to be a part of the great Nagaland experience, fight for the one million prize (among other individuals prizes) and of course, the Hornbill Festival of the Naga people too!
Audition details for bands/ artistes from Nagaland
For this year, the last date of submission of registration forms for Nagaland bands is October 15, 2014. The live auditions for Nagaland bands will be on October 18, 2014, at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA) in Jotsoma, Kohima.
Bands are to note that the organizers will reject songs / music that have themes glorifying Satanism, anti-religion, and / or have antisocial contents. Bands will be given 20 minutes (inclusive of time for set-up) to present their songs. We will inform the selected bands through email or phone. However, as we will be giving information through the media regularly from now on, we encourage you all to watch this space.
Audition details for national & international bands
For national and international bands, October 15 is the last date for submission of registration forms as well as audio / visual materials. National and International Bands must submit two demos (one in WAV or MP3 format, and the other, a YouTube link demonstrating live performance).
The quality of sound will not be judged but the audio must be clear enough for one to identify or differentiate instruments, vocals, and general make-up of the music. We will inform the selected bands through email or phone. However, as we will be giving information through the media regularly from now on, we encourage you all to watch this space. National / international bands are also required to submit a band profile, band logo, and band photograph (in JPEG). Any submission without all the required particulars will be rejected. They are to email all the stated materials, including registration forms, to hircnagaland@gmail.com. International bands are to take care of their Visas, travel expenses and all expenses related to entering India and traveling to Nagaland. Only accommodation (dormitory) will be provided by the organizers. Subsistence expenses such as food will have to be borne by the bands themselves.

Al Ngullie also stated that the results of the auditions will be announced on October 25, 2014.
