Diphu, July 18 (EMN): The Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) celebrated its 12th foundation day at the Department of Physic on July 18, inside the AUDC campus 8 km, Lumding Road, on Wednesday.
The programme started with plantation of tree saplings organised by AUDCSU, which was followed with the hoisting of institutional flag and garlanding of the statue of Semson Sing Ingti, founding father of Karbi Anglong district by the Executive Member for Higher Education, KAAC Jagatsing Ingti.
EM Jagatsing Engti in his speech said the cooperation of all of the AUDC faculties, students, student organisations, civil bodies and general public is needed it getting a full-fledged University Campus in Diphu, but for the time being it needs to continue with the present status. “If we have an autonomous University of our own then more facilities will come and students will also be more benefited. But in achieving this we need a collective effort of the AUDC faculties and students, the student organisations, civil bodies and general public.” All effort and necessary support from the KAAC authority will be extended to the AUDC, Engti assured.
He also assured the AUDC that an additional bus service for the students and faculties will be provided from KAAC Transport department on July 20.
The programme ended with the foundation day lecture by former Registrar, Assam University, Professor Niranjan Roy. The programme was attended by member Secretary social advisory board, AUDC Longsing Teron, faculties, students and leaders of KSU
