With regard to the Auching Village Citizen Union (Auching Buhu Noknyu Pangthai) general meeting held on January 8 and 9 at Auching village, the Auching Village Citizen Union adopted resolutions after taking serious note on the continual destruction of natural resources in the Auching Village Jurisdictions by the publics of the own village and other neighboring villages through man-made destructive chemicals, indiscriminate cutting of century old trees, chopping of freshly growing bamboo shoot, ferrying of river belt sand and boulder (River side stone), cultivating of Jhum fields by the neighboring tribe (S) without the approval from the Citizen Union.
The union release said, hunting and fishing with diverse brand of company made destructive gears and Naga indigenous technique, (company gears like gun, poisonous chemicals, battery shocking, operating of powerful generator etc) and locally made indigenous trapping like (bird net trapping, bamboo and stone laying trap) continued throughout the year despite several warnings being issued by the Union. However, appeals in good manner were ignored for several years, the union said. The Citizen Union Auching Village keeping in mind the present scenario like global warming, climate change as well as to save the drastic diminishing of flora and fauna in its land has adopted a decision to issue ‘’written notifications/orders’’ to all the concerned so as to put restriction on the said activities from the year 2015 onwards.
