ATMA Zunheboto, KVK Lumami organise farmers-scientist interaction
DIMAPUR — A one-day farmers-scientist interaction programme was organised by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Zunheboto in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Lumami on Tuesday at the DAO Office, Zunheboto.
According to a press release, the programme was chaired by Kivibo Achumi, agricultural technology manager (ATM) of Tokiye block, while the keynote address was delivered by deputy project director Vikaho Chophi of ATMA Zunheboto.
The technical session on animal science was conducted by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, principal scientist and head of KVK Lumami. During the session, he elaborated on the management of livestock production and its prospects, emphasising the importance of its economics.

Dr. Visakho Shunyu, chief technical officer (CTO) of KVK, Nagaland University, Lumami, in his speech, encouraged the farmers to strive towards self-sufficiency as a key to a rewarding future.
Also, there was a participative interactive session with the farmers, followed by a vote of thanks by Vivitoli I, ATM Ghathashi. A hands-on demonstration on maize sheller, pruners, grafting techniques, the use of biofertilisers, the importance of biopesticides, biomix, and yellow sticky traps was presented by ATMA functionaries.
The total number of participants at the event was 22. The farmers were from Satakha and Zunheboto blocks, as per the release.
