Dimapur, Aug. 16 (EMN): The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur, organised an ‘Exhibition cum sales day’ as part of the celebration of 76th Independence Day at DDSC stadium, Dimapur, on August 15.
According to a DIPR report, the exhibition-cum-sales event was inaugurated by advisor of Power department, H Tovihoto Ayemi. Two ATMA units namely Yaosmai SHG of Doyapur village under Dhansiripar sub-division and Xaqheni SHG of Hovishe village under Niuland district displayed agriculture produce in their respective stalls. The agri-allied department Horticulture, Fishery, Soil & Water Conservation, Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Co-operation departments also set up stalls to showcase a variety of activities and produce from the district.
ATMA Zunheboto District also organised district level exhibition stall-cum-sale at local ground, Zunheboto. The exhibition stall was inaugurated by minister of Agriculture & Cooperation, G Kaito Aye.
A total of three SHG representing three ATMA blocks including Akuhaito, Akuluto, Satakha, one ATMA progressive farmer and allied departments namely department of Soil and Water Conservation, Land Resources, Horticulture, Agriculture and Veterinary and AH Departments showcased different activities and produce of the district.
Meanwhile, ATMA Ghathashi block in collaboration with SDAO Pughoboto, organised the exhibition cum sales event at Pughoboto public ground, which was inaugurated by Y Vikheho Swu, MLA, an official bulletin stated.
Altogether, four self help groups from Pughoboto, Natsumi and Lazami villages showcased their indigenous crops grown in their fields. The aim and objective of the exhibition-cum-sales event was to promote the SHGs and FIGs. The department of Agriculture distributed free maize seed (HPQM-1) and biofertilizers to the farmers and public, it stated.
