ATMA Chuchuyimlang block imparts training, conducts demonstration
DIMAPUR — The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang block, held a training and demonstration programme at Chuchuyimlang village on August 24 and 25, respectively.
According to a press release issued by ATMA Chuchuyimlang block, on August 24 at Chuchuyimlang village, resource person Aolemla Kichu, block technology manager, imparted training on awareness of cole crop physiological disorder and its control, as well as a step-by-step guide to growing vegetables, focusing primarily on cole crops.
She emphasised the various physiological disorders that are common among the various cole crops and suggested methods and measures for their control.
A total of 26 farmers participated in the training programme.
Tangit Longkumer, assistant technology manager, Chuchuyimlang block, demonstrated French bean cultivation practises. He deliberated on the proper cultivation of French beans with emphasis on field preparation, the importance of line sowing, and plant protection measures, and also stated that, among different vegetables, French beans respond well to organic production in the northeastern hill regions.
Abenla B Jamir, assistant technology manager, Chuchuyimlang block, conducted a demonstration on knol khol cultivation practices on August 25. She demonstrated nursery bed preparation on the field for knol khol.
She discussed important steps to be taken during nursery bed management, with a focus on transplanting, sowing time, method of sowing and spacing, and intercultural operations such as weeding and irrigation.
On the same day, ATMA Chuchuyimlang block, in collaboration with FOCUS DMU Mokokchung, provided ‘training on the application of bio fertilisers.’
Jamir, the resource person, focused on four different types of biofertilisers: azotobacter, azospirillum, rhizobium, and phosphotika. She also discussed the use of biofertilizers for a variety of purposes, including seedling root tips, seed treatment, and soil treatment.
