Dimapur, August 17(EMN): The Dimapur Ao Students Union (ASUD) will be constructing a recreational space at Supermarket area in the coming months as part of projects being undertaken in commemoration of the ASUD’s Golden Jubilee celebration which is scheduled to take place in November of this year.
Lanutoshi Aier, president and Moayanger Jamir, general secretary, ASUD in a press release said that the union in collaboration with the DMC has been carrying out renovation works along the 190 metre long sidewalk located near PWD office and the site will soon be transformed into a beautiful stretch of modern artwork by a team of five talented artists.
They also shared their appreciation to DMC under Moa Sangtam for providing the opportunity to contribute something worthwhile for Dimapur. In this regard, the Union also requested the good wishes and moral support of friends and volunteers from different communities to make this upcoming project a reality for the people.
Extending their utmost gratitude to the DMC for doing its best to bring about all-round upliftment of the city, the union reposed their full faith in DMC under their administrator Moa Sangtam that Dimapur will continue to achieve greater milestones in days to come under his able management as he has proved himself as one of the finest administrators Dimapur has seen.
"Ever since he assumed office, visible developments have been taking place in various parts of town. His innovative and proactive leadership qualities are commendable in every way and continues to inspire the denizens to do our bid in transforming Dimapur into a liveable, breathable urban space", they stated.
Challenging the Dimapurians to take the lead in preserving natural resources and public property, the union said it was very disheartening to see damage towards basic amenities around town which have been constructed for public use.
Urging the educated young people to come forward and lend a helping hand to initiatives such as A Better Dimapur, the Team Clean and Team Green, the ASUD encouraged them to contribute and volunteer in this cause as these endeavours will provide them a chance to put their years of education to good use.
