Kohima, April 20 (EMN): Amid the nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19, the Angami Students Union (ASU) in collaboration with the Kohima district administration, task force and disaster management has reached out to the stranded students under Kohima district.
ASU president Vizokho Zashűmo said that for the welfare of the stranded students in Kohima district, they are doing their best to reach out to them wherever they are.
He told Eastern Mirror that over the past few weeks, they had been trying to assist and help in whatever way possible in their own limited capacity. “We are yet to reach out to many students, because we have thousands of stranded students out here in Kohima district who are not able to go home,” he said.
He appealed to all the students who want to go back to their districts and hometown to be patient and wait for some more days as higher authorities are yet to give the permission.
“We appeal to bear with the inconveniences and wait for further instructions,” he said. He further asked the students not to panic but adhere to the guidelines that have been given by the government.
Over the past few weeks, we delivered some of the essential commodities to their respective colonies, he said, adding that “many students are coming to local ground to avail the essential commodities that is being provided and distributed by the district administration”.
“We know there are still many more students who are yet to avail this facility and through this platform, we want to appeal to the students to personally call us through the given contact number (for help),” he informed. They can either call us or message so that we can reach out to them anytime, he added.
