Our Correspondent | EMN KOHIMA, AUGUST 10 THE second phase of non-locals, specially Bangladeshi immigrants verification drive of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) commenced here today at its office near All India Radio (AIR) station.ASU information & press secretary Khriezelhou Vitso said that the verification drive will continue till August 17 and asked those people who were unable to verify themselves in the first phase to get verified at ASU office from 8:00 to 4:00 PM. He said that ASU would initiate extreme action against the defaulters in its third phase. Moreover, the Union will also be taking initiative in deporting those defaulters, he said. It may be recalled that 4079 non- local inhabitant of the state capital responded in the first phase of the verification drive that was conducted in July,2013. “While we foresee inconveniences to many genuine citizens towards affecting this exercise, we urge all citizens to co-operate so as to counter this threat collectively,” ASU stated.
