DIMAPUR — The Angami Students’ Union on Friday voiced apprehension over the safety of Naga students, following an alleged ragging incident at Arbella Boys Hostel, Chasingre, Tura, NEHU Campus in Meghalaya on October 8.

The ASU condemned the incident, asserting that the perpetrators have not only threatened the safety of Naga students but also violated their human rights within the premises of an educational institution.

Expressing its dismay at the lack of any action taken by the concerned authorities despite being made aware of the matter, the union questioned whether the institute endorses ragging on the NEHU Campus, which is one of the most reputed universities in the Northeast.

Additionally, the ASU extended its sympathy to the victim and appealed to the government of Nagaland to intervene, ensuring that justice is promptly delivered.
