Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has reaffirmed to uphold the resolution on ‘One government, one tax’ adopted by the public of Dimapur on October 31, 2013.
In this regard, ASTD expressed gratitude to the Public Action Committee (PAC) under the umbrella of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) for bringing down the illegal and unabated taxations in the state in general and the Dimapur district/ town are in particular as witnessed by the public, ASTD president L Wati Jamir and secretary K Mar Lemtur stated in a joint press release.
ASTD felt that any form of intimidation and threat in the guise of national movement to any of PAC members and their family members would never bring about tangible solution. It stated that in the event of any groups or party involved in such unwarranted intimidation or threat would be held solely responsible and be viewed seriously.
The union further urged the government machineries particularly the custodian of laws to be more vigil in curbing the menace of illegal activities to enable smooth peace and tranquillity prevail in the state in general and the Dimapur town in particular.
