Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN):
Ao Senden Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) dedicated Senden Riju Nüngolong (monolith) in honour of Imtisungit Jamir and I Nüngshi Longkumer at Senden Riju, Dimapur, on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, the elected MLA Moatoshi Longkumer said that the erected  monument stone was laid down to acknowledge the land donors, Imtisungit Jamir, and I Nüngshi Longkumer for having the vision to donate a plot of land for Aos of Dimapur.

Longkumer compared the deeds of land donors to that of Sikhs for their humanitarian works all over the country especially during the pandemic.

“One principle of their teaching is to maintain a balanced life of family and social service to the public”, he added.

Informing that none ‘take your richness to heaven,” he encouraged Naga Christians to help society in whatever ways possible. He also appealed to the church leaders not only to focus on spiritual growth but also to focus on community service.

Meanwhile, former minister Imtisungit Jamir and Sharingain, son of I Nüngshi Longkumer, also delivered short speeches.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by planning member, Temsupok Jamir, while the dedicatory prayer for the monolith was said by Rev. I Wati Jamir, pastor of Daba.

The vote of thanks was delivered by ASTD president, Meren Longchar, and invocation prayer was said by Yarsangla, president of Dimapur Watsü Telongjem.

A brief report on the monument stone was also delivered by the convenor of monument planning committee, Imtisangba Aier.
