DIMAPUR — The advisor of Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, attended the distribution of aids and appliances for people with disabilities (PwD) held at Mon town council hall on Friday.
The advisor expressed his gratitude to the deputy commissioner and his team for the initiative in organising the programme, in collaboration with ALIMCO of India. He exuded confidence that through the distribution of aids and appliances, the quality of life of the beneficiaries would be greatly improved, stated a DIPR report.
In his encouragement to the beneficiaries, the advisor stated that the state government is taking care for inclusive development, where no PwD would be left behind in anything. He added that lift and ramp in every office building are available for them to reach. He also spoke about the Job reservation of 4% for the PwD.
He further appealed not to misuse the aids and appliances but use them for their benefit.
The deputy commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, highlighted about the programme and informed that it would be the last phase in Mon district. He thanked the district administration, DWO office, block level officers, PwDs association, various beneficiaries and medical team for successfully conducting the assessment camp.
