Assam’s Shakshi Biswakarma takes home Miss Northeast 2026 title

KOHIMA — 21-year old Shakshi Biswakarma from Assam was crowned Miss Northeast 2026 during the grand finale held at RCEMPA Jotsoma in Kohima on Saturday.

22-year-old Nikali Shohe from Nagaland won the 1st runner-up title while 22-year-old Thadoi Yunman from Manipur won the 2nd runner-up title.

Miss Northeast is initiated by Northeast Beauty Pageant Organisation (NBPO) and managed by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN).

Shakshi Biswakarma was also crowned Miss Assam in 2024.

It may be mentioned that a total of 13 contestants from the northeastern states including Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura, competed for the coveted title.

The top five contestants were Thadoi Yunman (Manipur), Nikali K Shohe (Nagaland), Shakshi Biswakarma (Assam), Anon Konyak (Nagaland) and Catherine Defini Diengdoh (Meghalaya).

The judges for the event were Ruopfuzhano Whiso, Miss Universe Nagaland 2024; Jentiren Jamir, Femina Miss India Nagaland 2024; Professor Theyie Keditsu; and Youngchul Kim, Chief Manager of BeautyTalk.

Theja Sekhose was the official choreographer while Mele Pucho was the show director of the evening.

The artistes who performed at the finale of Miss Northeast 2026 were Azi Rudy, Keneisezonuo Keretsii, Elizabeth Khing, Chen L, Vetho Rhakho, Tajenyuba, Sentein Kichu, Himshan Chuba, Weritsho Keyho and Sync Dance group.
