Dimapur, Feb. 16 (EMN): Serchhip Battalion of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) under Spear Corps constructed a toilet block for the Govt. School at Tlangsam village, Champhai district, Mizoram.
The public utility project was constructed under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (AR CAP) for the financial year 2021-22 and was handed over to school authorities in a function, organised by the school administration on Feb. 14, a press release informed.
The event was attended by students, teachers and villagers including the VCP of Tlangsam village.
The school principal and VCP of Tlangsam village expressed their gratitude towards security forces for providing the public utility facility in the area.
In continuation with the efforts of rendering help to the local population, Sajik Tampak and Sehlon Battalions under the aegis of IGAR (S) of Spear Corps conducted a medical camp at C Kotlen and Old Samtal villages, Chandel district, Manipur on Feb. 13 and 14.
The camp was organised as a part of Operation Sadhbhavna. 550 villagers were examined during the medical camp and provided medicines.
Meanwhile, Chieswema Battalion of IGAR (North) under Spear Corps distributed sports equipment and accessories in Kamarpur Village, Golaghat district, Assam, under Operation Sadhbhavna Project.
The distribution was held on the theme ‘Khelo India’ by Sukleshwar Mech, Gaon Burah with an aim to help the youth of the village to pursue their aspirations in the field of sports, it said.
The event was attended by children from nearby villages.
