Assam Sahitya Sabha felicitates D. Uphing Maslai

DIPHU — The Tribal Welfare Research Institute (TWRI) of Assam Sahitya Sabha (ASS), Diphu honoured and felicitated a noted writer of Tiwa community and an Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), D. Uphing Maslai for his participation at the recently concluded international seminar on Kokborok and Other Languages and Literatures of North East India on Oct. 1 and the 2nd at Tripura Tribal Folk Music School, Khumulwng, TTADC, Tripura.

Maslai at the seminar presented his paper in regard to the closeness of Tiprasa, Dimasa and Tiwasa languages.

In recognition of his selfless devotion towards the development of the Tiwa language and his participation in the seminar, the ASS, Diphu felicitated Maslai at Rangsina Bhawan, Lorulangso in Diphu.

‘I very much expressed my gratitude to the ASS, Diphu for the honour and felicitation given to me. It is my utmost duty to contribute toward the development of Tiwa language and literature and will continue to work,’ the EM said.
