Assam Rifles undertakes various activities across the state

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles conducted a five-day training capsule for 34 NCC cadets of the 25 NCC Battalion from February 6 to February 10 in Mon. During the training, the cadets received instruction on weapon handling and drill techniques.

A press release stated that the training schedule also included lectures to educate the cadets about the history of the armed forces and the important role played by Assam Rifles.

The training was conducted with the aim of enlightening the cadets about the defence forces and inspiring them to consider joining the armed forces.

Organises friendly volleyball match

Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with the Mon district volleyball team at Tizit Company Operating Base on Tuesday. The update mentioned that the same team will be participating in the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games from February 15 to 19.

The event was organised with the aim of promoting the importance of good health among the local youth and fostering stronger ties with the local community.

A day with company commander

Assam Rifles, on the theme ‘A day with the company commander’ organised a visit for 98 school students and teachers from a government high school to the Athibung Company Operating Base.

According to the update, it included fun-filled, informative, and recreational activities such as badminton and table tennis, as well as screenings of inspirational videos and information about careers in the Indian armed forces.

National integration tour

An update on the ongoing national integration tour, an initiative of the Assam Rifles for elderly members of the Khiamniungan tribe, mentioned that the group visited the iconic Red Fort and Raj Ghat. They also toured on Tuesday the Zoological Park, TV9 Newsroom, and Janpath in New Delhi.

The participants had previously visited the Taj Mahal, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Delhi Haat, Jantar Mantar, and Qutub Minar.

Solar lights distributed

Continuing the ‘Illuminating Lives’ initiative, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Schneider Electric Foundation India and the Sunbird Trust, distributed 495 solar lights to residents of Longjang and Wetting villages in Mon district.

According to the update, the goal of this corporate social responsibility initiative was to provide residents with sustainable and reliable lighting solutions that would improve their quality of life.

“These high-quality and high-performance lights will help the locals in their day to day household chores and for children’s education,” it read.
