Assam Rifles undertakes Operation Sadbhavna projects
Assam Rifles along with the village chairman, GB and others in Longleng district, Nagaland on Feb. 21.

Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) of Spear Corps provided six bunk beds to St. Peter’s School, Tengnoupal, Manipur on Feb. 21 as part of Operation Sadbhavana project.

The bunk beds were provided to meet the requirement of the school as it was facing a shortage of beds to accommodate students, a defence update informed.

Meanwhile, Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed 95 LED solar lanterns under operation Sadbhavna project 2021-22 at Kunsa village, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh on Feb. 21.

The project was aimed at improving basic facilities in the remote villages of the region.

Again on Feb. 21, Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed sports items to seven villages — Yongya, Niyang, Tangha, Yongam, Pongo, Oushok and Phomching — of Longleng District, Nagaland.

In an effort to promote sports and fitness amongst the youth, a total of 112 footballs, 70 volleyballs, 42 badminton rackets, 28 football nets, 28 volleyball nets, 28 badminton nets and 21 packets of shuttlecock were distributed.

The village chairman, GB and other council members received the sports items on behalf of the villagers and the youth.

The local population expressed gratitude towards Assam Rifles for executing projects for the benefit of the villagers.

Security Forces apprehend UNLF, KLA cadres

Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): In two separate operations with Manipur Police, Churachandpur and Loktak Battalions of IGAR (South) under Spear Corps apprehended one KLA and one UNLF cadre in Churachandpur and Bishnupur district of Manipur on Feb. 21.

Based on specific intelligence, security forces launched joint operations with Manipur Police leading to these apprehensions. One 9mm Pistol and three live rounds were recovered from the KLA cadre, a defence update informed.

The apprehended cadres along with recovered items were handed over to Churachandpur and Moirang Police Station for further investigation.
