Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC&S) was declared the best team of the inter-sector debate competition, while 27 Sector team was declared the runners up. The debate competition was held at ARTC&S, Dimapur, on June 25 and 26 on the theme ‘To strictly observe human rights norms in all cases of security concern is not possible.’
A total of 48 speakers comprising thirteen teams from Assam Rifles Sectors and Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, Dimapur, participated in the debate competition in Hindi and English. Brigadier Arjun Segan, Commandant of ARTC&S, was the chief guest of the debate competition.
According to Assam Rifles press release, the main aim of the debate was to sensitise the troops about human rights and importance of their strict observance while dealing with the public.
Rifleman M Shrivastav of 22 Sector and Rifleman Balwan Singh of ARTC&S were adjudged the best speakers in Hindi, Havildar Jay VJ of 27 Sector and Rifleman Vicky Chhetri of 7 Sector were adjudged the best speaker in English.
It also informed that Assam Rifles team was also selected to take part in the Central Police Organisation’s North East Zone debate competition-2019 scheduled at ARTC&S, Shokhuvi, on July 24.
