Dimapur, Jan. 3 (EMN): Kiphire battalion of the Assam Rifles constructed a public toilet in Khongsa village under Pungro sub-division of Kiphire district under its civic action project for the financial year 2022-23 and handed over the same to the villagers on January 2.

A defence release stated that the village council members have expressed gratitude to the Kiphire battalion of Assam Rifles for their noble deeds by helping to achieve their goal in making Khongsa village free from open defecation.

A total of 52 villagers were present at the time of inauguration and handing over of the project. It added that the villagers have assured full cooperation to the security forces and vowed to put maximum effort in the Swachh Bharat Mission.

In another programme, Tuensang battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a distribution of solar lights for residents of Jamlai village under Mon district on January 3. It stated that the residents have appreciated the efforts of the security forces.
