Assam Rifles reaches out to ex-servicemen, veer naaris in Noklak

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles, with an aim of knowing and resolving the various issues faced by ex-servicemen and veer naaris (widows of martyrs), conducted a meet on Sunday in Noklak.

According to an update, during the meeting, problems with pensions and other issues confronting ex-servicemen were discussed. It was especially focused on the veer naaris, who face difficulties in pension dispensation due to their location in remote areas of Nagaland.

The statement further added that the gesture by the Assam Rifles was appreciated by all ex-servicemen and veer naaris and the event had a fruitful and positive outcome.
