Assam Rifles provides computers, conducts medical camp

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles distributed computer sets with tables and chairs to five villages in the Kiphire district under Operation Sadbhavna in recognition of the crucial role of technology in today’s world.

The initiative was aimed at ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to the tools necessary for education, communication, and overall development and aligned with the Assam Rifles’ mission to foster digital literacy and create opportunities for individuals in underserved areas, according to an update.

The initiative was also intended to provide residents of these villages with the means to connect with the rest of the world, improve their educational pursuits, and explore economic opportunities via online platforms.

The distribution initiative was carried out in collaboration with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach.

Medical camp at Mutingkhong

The Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp in the Indo-Myanmar border village of Mutingkhong in Kiphire district to address the villagers’ healthcare needs in the absence of a medical establishment nearby.

According to the update, 79 people, including 23 men, 29 women, and 27 children, benefited from the medical camp, receiving essential healthcare services.

“The absence of accessible medical facilities in the village made this initiative crucial for the well-being of the community,” the release read.

The Assam Rifles medical camp provided a variety of medical services to the villagers, addressing various health concerns, and the effort was met with gratitude and appreciation from the village appointees, who expressed their heartfelt thanks for the thoughtful and much-needed support, according to the update.
