DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a national integration tour for students from Dimapur to Gujarat and inaugurated a water storage tank near Pherima village in Medziphema.
As part of the ongoing national integration tour, 20 students from Dimapur visited the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Sarthak at Porbandar Port, Gujarat.
According to an update, the visit was organised with the aim of promoting national integration and providing the students with first-hand exposure to maritime security and coastal defence operations.
ICGS Sarthak, an offshore patrolling vessel and one of the largest ships of the Indian Coast Guard, offered the students an in-depth understanding of its operational capabilities and role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests.

The students were received by the commanding officer and the ship's crew. During a guided tour, the students were briefed on offshore patrolling duties, search and rescue missions and humanitarian assistance operations undertaken by the Indian Coast Guard.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles, under its ongoing civic action programme, inaugurated a 10,000-litre cemented water tank in Pherima village on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by local villagers and Assam Rifles officials. The newly constructed cemented water tank is designed to store water sourced from the natural stream flowing from the Pherima water point.
It was mentioned that this initiative is especially important during the monsoon season, when natural water sources are often disrupted due to landslides.
