Assam Rifles organises lecture, donation drive
DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a lecture in the remote village of Thonknyu, Noklak district, near the Indo-Myanmar border on Tuesday to commemorate the International Day of Living Together in Peace.
According to a press release, 59 people attended the event, including village leaders, women, nurses, and members of the Tikhir and Khiamniungan tribes.
The lecture aimed to promote unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities, encouraging attendees to cultivate harmony and mutual respect.
The Assam Rifles also conducted a donation drive themed “Compassion in action” for the Shalom Children’s Home in Kiphire district on May 21. Children and staff from the Shalom Children’s Home were present at the event.
The donation drive aimed to provide essential support to the children, enhancing their quality of life and educational opportunities. The Assam Rifles donated clothes, books, comics and magazines.
