DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles observed National Road Safety Week at Yingshukur village in Kiphire district from January 11 to the 17th.
According to a press release, the initiative aimed at sensitising the populace about the importance of road safety and responsible behaviour while using public roads. The week-long awareness campaign witnessed participation from local youth and members of the village community.

Various awareness activities were conducted throughout the week, focusing on traffic discipline, safe driving practices, and adherence to traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
The campaign culminated in an informative lecture on road safety, highlighting common causes of road accidents and preventive measures. This was followed by a display of important traffic signs, enabling participants to better understand road symbols and rules.
A road safety pledge was also administered, encouraging all participants to commit themselves to responsible road usage.
