Assam Rifles nabs one with arms

Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): Based on specific intelligent inputs regarding presence of NSCN (R) cadres in 5th Mile area, Assam Rifles and State police launched a joint search operation on July 10 and arrested one person along with arms. According to a defence release, the accused has been identified as Mughavi Achumi (42), allegedly the under secretary of NSCN (R) and resident of Unity village, 5th Mile area, Dimapur. The combined team recovered two point 32mm auto pistol with three magazines and five rounds and other incriminating materials from his possession. It claimed that the cadre was involved in various cases of extortion and illegal activities including weapon smuggling in Dimapur. It added that the accused along with the recovered items were handed over to Diphupar Police Station for further investigation.
