Assam Rifles nab three NSCN cadres
Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Dimapur battalion of the Assam Rifles along with a state police representative arrested two suspected NSCN (K) cadres along extortion slips and contraband drugs during operation from Clock Tower area in Dimapur on May 8.
According to Assam Rifles press release, the two accused have been identified as Ayeto V Aye (24), son of Vikugha Aye, and Holoho Sumi (24), son of Khughuto, both from Chekiye village in Dimapur district.
The troops recovered two extortion slips of NSCN (K), sixteen non local identity cards of NSCN (R), seven capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, cash amounting INR 14,660 and one packet of brown sugar.
It added that the arrested persons along with the recoverd items were handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur, for further investigation.
In a separate incident, troops of the Assam Rifles arrested one suspected NSCN (R) cadre during operation while he was carrying out extortion in Rail Bazaar on May 8.
The arrested person has been identified as Inavi Yeptho (24), Rajapaeyo of NSCN(R), son of Nihoto Yeptho and resident of Thahekhu village in Dimapur district. The troops recovered twelve extortion information slips, one cheque (Axis Bank) of INR one lakh, one hundred kyats Myanmar currency, cash amounting INR 1060 and one appointment letter of NSCN (R).
The Assam Rifles added that the accused along with the recovered item were handed over to Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur, for further investigation.
