KOHIMA — The 14th Assam Rifles Noklak Battalion has introduced a special bus service, available every Sunday, to facilitate the senior citizens of Noklak in attending their morning church service on Sabbath days.

This initiative is primarily designed to provide essential transportation support to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities at the headquarters of the new district.

It was informed that, in the absence of local or public transportation, the 14th Assam Rifles made the conscious decision to contribute to the community’s welfare by addressing their pressing needs.

This endeavour seeks to strengthen and nurture a strong bond with the tribal community in addition to assisting the local populace.

The bus service was inaugurated on October 29, with members of the Longdon Baptist Church congregating at High School Colony, Noklak, to witness the bus’s inaugural journey.
