Assam Rifles inter sector boxing C’ship 2014-15

Assam Rifles Inter Sector Boxing Championship was conducted at ARTC & S, Shukhovi, from 09th to 16th Feb 2015. Total 112 pugilists representing the twelve Sectors of AR vied for the coveted ‘DGAR Boxing Trophy’ in ten weight categories.
The pugilists represented the true character of a soldier be it in displaying raw courage, perseverance, grit and determination and chivalry in victory and defeat. Over the conduct of the preliminary rounds from 09-16 Feb 2015 the best boxers fought their way to the finals which was conducted on the 16th of Feb 2015
In the finals, each of the boxers gave an account of their skills, courage and sportsmanship in the ring earning laurels for their respective sectors. The event was witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd of over 400 personnel including families. Brig K Narayanan, Commandant ARTC & S graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Rfn L Laldukima of HQ 22 Sector was declared the Best Boxer and Rfn Abel of HQ 27 Sector declared the Best Loser. HQ 22 Sector emerged as the Inter Sector Boxing Champions whilst HQ 9 Sector was the Runners up.
The Prize distribution ceremony was conducted with traditional military fervor and the boxers were feted for their respective performances.
