Assam Rifles installs solar lights, plants trees

Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): The Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) installed 50 x LED 120W street light in Mon town on August 19, informed an update from Col Sanjiv Sethi, PRO, HQ IGAR (N).

The battalions of AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) also organised a tree plantation drive across Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh on August 31 with an aim to reduce the impact of global warming and to maintain ecological balance.

‘A total of 78,625 saplings, including locally available flora and fruit-bearing trees were planted by all ranks amid ardour and fervour,’ it was informed.

“Assam Rifles as a Force is striving hard to strengthen the resolve to augment forests cover in the North East Region and to create awareness amongst general populace about the importance and benefits of tree plantation,” it added.
