Dimapur, March 16 (EMN): Troops of 44 Assam Rifles conducted an interaction with the ex-servicemen (ESM) at Mokokchung on March 7 last, which was attended by 20 ex-servicemen from the district.
Colonel KS Kataria, Commandant, 44 Assam Rifles, welcomed the ex-servicemen with words of appreciation and shared their grievances with regard to financial benefits, canteen and medical facilities. The Commandant assured to undertake necessary actions to facilitate better services on canteen, medical and other facilities to the ex-servicemen and their families.
They were also apprised about the upcoming recruitment rally at Rangapahar and civic action programmes which being undertaken by the Assam Rifles in the region.In a similar programme, 15 Assam Rifles conducted an interaction with ex-servicemen (ESM) at Noklak on March 10 which was also attended by local GBs/DBs of the village. A total of 4 Veer Naries, 7 AR ex-servicemen and 9 GBs/DBs attended the interaction programme.
Colonel Vineet Jaiswal, Commandant 15 Assam Rifles, informed about latest provisions of pension/ex-servicemen facilities. The main motive on the interaction was to educate Veer Naris regarding their entitlement provided by the Assam Rifles. The Commandant assured immediate assistance pertaining to grievances on pension benefits of ARESM.
The event concluded with informal discussion with locals and ex-servicemen.
