Assam Rifles felicitates Northeast NCC cadets

Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): AVSM, Director General Assam Rifles Lt. Gen. Sukhdeep Sangwan felicitated the NCC cadets of the North Eastern Region Directorate on February 6 at the DGAR HQ, Laitkor in Shillong, on their return from Republic Day camp.

It was a glorious chapter unfolding in the annals of the Northeast region NCC cadets history, as the cadets stole the limelight in Republic Day camp by winning trophies in the Prime Minister’s rally, guard of honour, flag area and national integration awareness presentation,” an update received here on Friday said.

Besides winning a number of awards, the team was also adjudged as the best overall contingent in the Republic Day camp, it informed.

Addressing the cadets, Sangwan said the Assam Rifles takes pride in the achievement of NCC NER Directorate and further encouraged them to bring more laurels to the region and country as a whole.

Lauding the cadets for their commendable achievements, the DG advised them to think out of the box and keep striving.

Urging the cadets from other parts of the country to learn about the rich heritage of the Northeast, he invited them to visit the region and assured that the Assam Rifles will extend assistance.

The DG further informed that the Assam Rifles has apprised the Ministry of Home Affairs to give  priority to the NCC cadets holding C-certificate in recruitment process to the Assam Rifles.
