Assam Rifles distributes solar lamps in Ukhrul

Dimapur, October 10 In an attempt to further strengthen the bond of friendship with the people of Kamjong sub-division of Ukhrul district in Manipur, 31 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed 400 solar lamps to the villagers of Aishi, Molvailup, Chattrik Khullen, Chattrik Khunou, Phaikoh and Humine Thana village on October 5, an Assam Rifles release said today. The solar lamps were handed over to the village headmen and secretaries by Commander of 10 Sector Assam Rifles. These villages were identified as remote and backward areas requiring immediate assistance in terms of light for daily need, the release said. Distribution of solar lamps to these villages will help improve their quality of life and definitely serve as an impetus to improve relations and build mutual trust of civil populace with Assam Rifles, the release stated.
