DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles held a free medical checkup camp at Khezhakeno village in Phek district on Monday.
According to a press release, the aim of the medical camp was to provide free and essential healthcare to locals in areas where medical facilities are remote or inaccessible.
A total of 62 patients received treatment during the camp, including 26 men, 22 women, and 14 children.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It organised a lecture on joining the Indian Army for students of St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Samzuiram village of Jalukie, Peren district.
The lecture covered the Agniveer recruitment process and various aspects such as defence forces as a career choice for men and women, different types of entries, the advantages of a career in security forces over other career opportunities, eligibility requirements for various entries, and upcoming recruitment schemes.
The students were also briefed about various assistance, guidance, and training facilities provided by the Assam Rifles to enable them to join the security forces. A total of 150 students attended the lecture.
Following the lecture, students were given a document containing information about various recruitment schemes of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles.
Under the 'Naari Shakti Initiative,' the Assam Rifles organised a documentary screening and friendly volleyball match with students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Girls Hostel, Bumei village, at Changlanshu, Mon.
The competition was witnessed by 53 students, as well as the teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Assam Rifles held a wreath-laying ceremony and paid tribute to Rfn. BN Kashyap at the Unit War Memorial in Tuensang on Monday. Kashyap made the supreme sacrifice on this day in 2010 while fighting militants at Keithelmanbi, Manipur, according to the note.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It also organised a career counselling and motivational lecture at Chakhesang Mission Higher Secondary School, Pfütsero. The purpose of the event was to encourage and motivate local youth to join the Assam Rifles and the Indian armed forces.
Eligibility and selection criteria were discussed during the event, and questions from the audience were addressed.
The lecture was attended by 505 students and 28 teachers from the school. The Assam Rifles also urged the youth to approach them if they needed assistance.
