Assam Rifles conducts various activities in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — In an attempt to raise awareness about the opportunities offered at Sainik School, fostering a spirit of discipline and excellence, the Assam Rifles (AR) on Friday delivered a motivational lecture to students at St. Mary’s High School, Mon.
The initiative highlighted the availability of free coaching classes in Mon to support aspiring students in their preparation for joining Sainik School, said an update from PRO, HQ IGAR (North).
It added that a total of 120 students participated in the lecture.
Distribution of sports materials
In a delayed report, the Assam Rifles updated on Friday that it distributed sports materials, including footballs, volleyballs, table tennis board and paddles, badminton nets and shuttles, carrom boards, javelins, skipping ropes, etc., to students of Government School at New Ralan, Wokha in the presence of the Village Chairman, New Rala, Wokha on November 15.
The objective of the initiative was to assist and enhance sporting facilities to students studying in isolated and far-flung areas as well as to facilitate overall growth and development through sports and games, said the update.
‘Besides strengthening the bond between friends, providing them such facilities was also to motivate children in the rural areas to attend school regularly with enthusiasm and to stay active and healthy with discipline in their pursuit for a bright future,’ it added.
Students, teachers and leaders of the village had a football exhibition match after the event, it informed.
In another update, the AR updated that it organized Annual Sports Day at Assam Rifles High School, Tuensang, on Friday. A total of 72 students and 16 teachers participated in the event which included a march past, athletic events and other sporting activities.
