Assam Rifles conducts various activities as part of ‘Meri LiFE’ campaign

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles observed World Orthodontic Health Day on Wednesday in Tuensang district at Assam Rifles Public School and St. John Higher Secondary School, with a total of 230 students taking part.

According to an update, the initiative was in line with the Indian government’s ‘Meri LiFE’ campaign and the oral health awareness programme included interactive sessions and demonstrations on proper dental hygiene practices. The emphasis was on the importance of maintaining good oral health from a young age.

Also, as part of the ‘Meri LiFE’ campaign, Assam Rifles conducted a motivational lecture for the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Peren, on May 13. The lecture educated the youth on the aim of the LiFE movement, which seeks to transform individuals into ‘pro-planet people’ who adopt sustainable lifestyles, inspiring the youth.

The event witnessed the participation of 132 students from the school, who were made aware of the need to adopt lifestyles that prioritise conservation, moderation, and the protection of the environment. They were also encouraged to participate in the campaign and educate their friends and families about the same.

The event concluded with students taking an oath to make all possible changes in their daily lives to protect the environment and to continuously motivate their friends, family, and others about the importance of environmentally friendly habits.

In Bhandari town, as part of the Meri LiFE amplification programme, Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness drive on May 13, in which 25 volunteers and 15 children participated.
