Dimapur, April 27 (EMN): Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) facilitated provision of water supply under AR Civic Action Programme and handed it over to the village authorities of Doyapur village, Dimapur on April 25.
A defence update further informed that Jalukie Battalion in collaboration with College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, organised a veterinary camp at Bongkolong village, Peren district on April 26.
The veterinary camp for livestock and poultry conducted the camp for the remote areas of Athibung subdivision. Livestock owners were also briefed about the various health and hygiene methods to be implemented during Covid-19 and African Swine Flu crisis and were provided with necessary medicines for the same.
Meanwhile in Arunachal Pradesh, Longding Battalion of AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) under ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’, organised a blood donation camp at Longding town, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh on April 26.
The camp was organised along with Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh to promote and motivate blood donation amongst villagers. The theme of the blood donation camp was ‘Give blood and keep the world-beating’. The event witnessed participation from the local population as well as 144 residents including police personnel, students and local youth.
In Kenyam village, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh, Jairampur Battalion of AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North), organised a friendly volleyball match on April 26.
The event was focused on creating awareness about importance of physical fitness and promoting sports activities among the local youth of the region with an aim to wean them away from the clutches of insurgency.
