DIMAPUR — The national integration tour organised by the Assam Rifles, which began in Kohima and included students from four colleges, ended on February 14, with the participants initiating their journey back to Kohima.
According to a press release from Assam Rifles, on the final day of the tour in Delhi, participants visited the Lotus Temple before moving on to Pragati Maidan to witness the World Book Fair.
Solar light distribution
Continuing the ‘Illuminating lives’ initiative, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Schneider Electric Foundation India and the Sunbird Trust, distributed 150 solar lights to residents of L/Wamsa village, Mon.
“This initiative under CSR aims to bring sustainable and reliable lighting solutions to enhance the quality of life for the residents,” the release said, adding that the high-quality and high-performance lights would help the locals in their day to day household chores and for children’s education.
Friendly cricket match
The Assam Rifles played a friendly match against officers from the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) on Thursday who were undergoing an orientation programme in Zunheboto.
The event served as a platform for building stronger bonds between the security forces and civil administration, emphasising the importance of collaboration and mutual respect, it said.
