DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles held a lecture and presentation to encourage young people to join the Indian Army on Wednesday at Hope Academy, Naga United Village, Chümoukedima.

According to an update, about 250 students and five faculty members participated in the interaction, and the presentation focused on motivating 9th and 11th grade students to join the Indian Army, as well as various aspects of applying, the selection process, training, and life in the Indian Army.

National Girl Child Day

The Assam Rifles commemorated National Girl Child Day by conducting awareness lectures on girl child empowerment in Meluri town on Wednesday.

The event featured the participation of Assam Rifles personnel from Phek Garrison in interactive sessions with students of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Meluri, as well as villagers, particularly young girls from Avangkhu village.

“These sessions aided these budding youth in understanding their career options and the pathways that led to those options in order to create a bright future for themselves and their families,” the update said.

Solar light distribution in Noklak

Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles distributed 212 solar lights to residents of Langnok and Kenjong villages in Noklak district, in collaboration with the Sunbird Trust and the Schneider Electric Foundation.

“The initiative under CSR aims to bring sustainable and reliable lighting solutions to enhance the quality of life for the residents,” it said.
