Assam Rifles conducts Swachhta Abhiyan, security meeting
DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a Swachhta Abhiyan in collaboration with the locals of Langnok village, Noklak, to underscore the significance of clean surroundings for the betterment of the region and the community.
A press release from the force maintained that it also aimed to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the village and marked a collaborative effort between the Assam Rifles and the locals of the village.
In another initiative, the Assam Rifles provided sports kits, including football and volleyball, to the Sumi Joseph Youth Fellowship in Kohima.
The release mentioned that the Fellowship and the locals in the area appreciated the steps taken by Assam Rifles to promote a sports culture among the locals.
Also, Assam Rifles organised a security coordination meeting at Mimi village in Kiphire district on March 4.
According to an update, a total of 17 stakeholders from twelve villages attended the meeting that emphasised the importance of coordination between society and Assam Rifles.
During the meeting, all attendees were briefed about their role in nation-building, with particular emphasis on educating youth about the harmful effects of drugs and strategies for prevention.
Matters such as deterring youth from joining underground cadres and prioritising the nation’s welfare were also highlighted.
