DIMAPUR — In a dedicated effort towards youth empowerment, Assam Rifles organised a 20-day pre-recruitment training for 16 aspirants of SSC/GD and 23 aspirants of Agniveer Recruitment Rally for the upcoming physical tests, at its Medziphema campus in Chümoukedima district.

Under the guidance of experienced physical training instructors, the programme followed a structured routine that familiarised candidates with the different tests conducted during the rally, their required standards, and the correct techniques to perform each test effectively, a defence release stated.

Aspirants were also coached in endurance, stamina-building exercises, and discipline qualities essential for a career in the armed forces.

Assam Rifles had also arranged written test preparation training for many of these aspirants.

“This dual focus on both physical and academic readiness not only enhanced their chances of success but also reflected Assam Rifles commitment to fostering opportunities for local youth,” the release stated.

“As the programme concluded, participants expressed confidence and determination to appear in the recruitment rallies being held at various locations.”

In pursuance of its commitment to the welfare of local communities, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Muleangkiur village in Shamator district, one of the remotest villages of Nagaland.

A dedicated medical officer and his team of Assam Rifles, assisted by a team of civil nurses, conducted comprehensive health checkups. Every patient underwent preliminary inspection, with those exhibiting abnormal vitals subjected to detailed examination.

The camp ensured not only curative attention but also preventive healthcare awareness, especially crucial in the backdrop of the monsoon season, which often brings a surge in communicable diseases.

A total of 850 villagers benefitted from the initiative, including 380 men, 310 women and 160 children. Special care was accorded to children and elders, who were also provided refreshments as part of the camp’s community outreach effort.

“The initiative has been widely lauded by the local populace, who expressed deep gratitude towards Assam Rifles for reaching out with essential healthcare facilities in such remote terrain.

“The effort reflects the force’s unflinching resolve to safeguard the well being of the people, thereby reinforcing its bond with the citizens of Nagaland,” the release stated.
