DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles organised a lecture on Operation Sindoor at Hav. Mering Ao, SC (Retd.) Centre of Excellence and Wellness, Mokokchung district, on October 1.


According to a press release, the lecture shed light on the background, objectives and achievements of Operation Sindoor, underlining its relevance to the security and stability of the region.


It further highlighted the role played by the armed forces in safeguarding national interests and maintaining peace in challenging circumstances.


It said that through interaction, the programme aimed to inspire young minds by instilling a sense of patriotism, discipline and responsibility towards the nation. The event was part of Assam Rifles’ outreach initiatives to strengthen its bond with local communities.

Assam Rifles holds Operation Sindoor lecture at Pungro


Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles Public School, Phek, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. A total of 24 students participated in the event, which included a cleanliness drive, speech competition, skit, and fancy dress competition.


The cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the school premises.


The speech competition saw students delivering orations on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting his principles of truth, non-violence, and simplicity. The skit and fancy dress competition added a creative touch to the celebration, with students portraying Mahatma Gandhi and other figures of the Indian freedom struggle.
