DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a ‘National Integration Tour’ organised to attend Rashtra Katha Shivir 2025-2026.
A total of 20 students from Dimapur participated in the camp aimed at promoting the spirit of unity, national pride, and cultural harmony among the youths of our country, a defence release stated.
The tour provided students a unique opportunity to experience the diverse fabric and grandeur of India. Following their active participation in the Rashtra Katha Shivir, the participating students continued their journey to the national capital, New Delhi.
During their visit, they explored prominent historical and cultural landmarks including the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, India Gate, National War Memorial, and various national museums.
The tour concluded with the contingent’s safe return to Dimapur amidst a warm welcome by the conducting unit and sector who lauded the enthusiasm and discipline of the students. “The Assam Rifles continued commitment towards youth empowerment and national integration reflecting the motto of Assam Rifles ‘Friends of the North East People,’” the release stated.

On January 9, the Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness drive at Phuchama village, Kohima district, in collaboration with local residents from the surrounding areas. The initiative was undertaken as part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment towards community welfare, environmental protection, and promoting public awareness on hygiene and sanitation.
Personnel of Assam Rifles actively participated alongside villagers in cleaning public spaces, roadsides, and common areas of the village.
The drive aimed to encourage collective responsibility towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment and to strengthen the bond between the security forces and the local population.

During the activity, villagers were sensitised on the importance of cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and sustainable environmental practices for improving overall quality of life.
“The enthusiastic participation of local residents reflected a strong sense of cooperation and shared responsibility,” it stated.
“The cleanliness drive was well received by the villagers, who appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in supporting community-driven initiatives. Such programmes reinforce Assam Rifles’ role as a force for security as well as social development in the region.”
IGAR (N) Manish Kumar visits Tuensang
Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), Major General Manish Kumar visited Tuensang district on January 9. During his visit, the IGAR interacted with troops of the Assam Rifles and reviewed their operational preparedness, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s easternmost borders, a defence release stated.
Kumar lauded the efforts of the Assam Rifles personnel for their dedicated service in protecting the local population from the cadres of insurgent groups in the region and urged them to maintain their high standards of motivation and vigilance to effectively counter insurgent activities.
The Inspector General also interacted with the children of Bethel Children Home, Tuensang, and gifted study materials and snacks to the children.
He also highlighted the Assam Rifles’ various civic action initiatives, including health camps, educational outreach and infrastructure development, emphasising the force’s vital role in promoting peace, progress, and goodwill among the local communities.
