DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles organised a cleanliness drive under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign at Akhegwo village, Meluri district, on Monday.
The event was held as part of the nationwide Clean India Movement aimed at promoting hygiene, environmental awareness, and civic responsibility among citizens, according to a press release.
The initiative saw participation from both Assam Rifles personnel and the local populace. The participants undertook a cleaning drive covering public areas, community spaces, and village surroundings. The campaign also emphasised the importance of cleanliness, waste management, and sustainable living practices.
Addressing the gathering, Assam Rifles personnel highlighted the vision of the Swachh Bharat Mission and the role of every citizen in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.
