Assam Rifles conducts civic action programmes

Public avail medical check-up during the medical-cum- immunisation camp held at Vonkithem village in Peren district on November 1.

Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): As part of its civic action programme, Assam Rifles conducted medical and immunisation camps, constructed waiting shed and recreation hall in various districts of the state.

A defence release on Wednesday stated that Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with PHC Ahthibung, conducted medical and immunisation camp at Vonkithem on November 1. It informed that the medical team provided medical check- up and immunisation to the villagers of Vonkithem, Phaijol and New Chamcha village and provided necessary medicine.

The villagers were briefed about the various health and hygiene precautions to be taken during the Covid-19 crisis. A total of 152 villagers were benefited from the medical and immunisation camp.

In a separate programme, Dimapur battalion constructed a waiting shed at Herbert Spencer School located at North Angami Colony in Dimapur district. It was constructed at an approximate cost of INR 1.5 lakh and was handed over to the school in the presence of the village GB and chairman on November 2.

It stated that the school authority has extended gratitude and lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles.

In another programme, Mon battalion of the Assam Rifles constructed a recreation hall at Shalom Kids School Foundation and handed over to the school authority. The report stated that the school authority has appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles.
